JADAC offers Concerned
Persons alcohol/drug education program
JADAC (The Jefferson Alcohol and
Drug Abuse Center) presents the Concerned Persons program 6-7:30
p.m., every Thursday at JADAC, 600 S. Preston St. Concerned Persons
is an educational program, funded by Metro United Way, for people
whose lives have been affected by a friend's or loved one's addiction
to drugs or alcohol. Persons can join the group at any time.
Group members discuss the disease
of chemical dependency; the intervention, treatment and recovery
of addiction; how loved ones can take care of themselves; how to
help drug or alcohol abusers; and how to access support groups such
as Al-Anon. The program is available at no cost to participants.

JADAC is part of Seven Counties Services,
Inc., a private non-profit organization that provides prevention,
treatment and support in the areas of mental health, alcohol/drug
abuse, and developmental disabilities. It serves residents of Jefferson,
Bullitt, Henry, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in
Kentucky. It is Kentucky's largest comprehensive mental health center,
with more than 1,200 staff providing services to approximately 22,000
persons each year.
