about Improving Mental Health Outcomes for Older Adults

H. Kelly Psychological Services Center, the Kentucky Psychological
Association and Dr. Elizabeth Moran Fitzgerald, Inc., will present:
Interpersonal Psychotherapy
(IPT) in the Treatment of Late Depression

Participants will become familiar
with current research on the use of IPT in successfully treating
older adults as well as the basic therapeutic goals, strategies,
and techniques of IPT. In addition, the presenter will share cases
of depressed older adults treated with IPT, and provide the opportunity
for participants to apply IPT to their clinical work.
The workshop will benefit nurses,
psychologists, social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists,
mental health professionals, nursing home staff, and long-term care
professionals.
Presenter Gregory A. Hinrichsen,
Ph.D., is the Associate Director of Psychology, Geriatric Psychiatry
Division, Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He also serves on the
faculties of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and St. Johns
University. He serves as a member of the Mental Health and Aging
Network of the American Society on Aging, and as a member of the
American Psychological Associations Presidential Task Force
on Aging. Dr. Hinrichsen is the author of Mental Health Problems
and Older Adults (ABC-CLIO, 1990), and is a contributing author
to The Encyclopedia of Adult Development (Oryx Press, 1990).
The workshop registration fee is
$119 per person. A 10% discount is available for Kentucky Psychological

Seven Counties Services, Inc. is
