Seven Counties Services purchases
additional building
on West Broadway; consolidates programming
formerly split between two other locations
Seven Counties Services has purchased a building at 2650 W. Broadway
that will help it consolidate one of its outpatient mental health
programs that was divided between offices at 2225 W. Broadway and
1912 W. Broadway. Seven Counties owns the building at 2225 W. Broadway
and was leasing the 1912 W. Broadway site. The organization will
continue to offer outpatient mental health and substance abuse services
at its 2225 W. Broadway building.
Seven Counties purchased the 12,000 sq. ft. building at 2650 W.
Broadway for $787,500 late last year. Bev Compton, Seven Counties'
Director of Properties, says the purchase is the culmination of
a five-year search for additional property in the West End.
Unfortunately, there has been a shortage of available space
appropriate for medical and other services of this type in the West
End. Much of what is available is industrial or warehouse space
that would need extensive retrofitting for our needs, and therefore
makes some available properties simply too expensive for us,
she says.
The 2650 W. Broadway site has a number of attributes that
we look for when choosing facilities for our medical services
the
site is convenient, it is on one of the main east-west arteries
of the city; it is accessible for those with disabilities; it is
on a bus line; it also has of parking; and the building is clean
and attractive.
Compton added that Seven Counties also is pleased that with
the purchase of our additional building on West Broadway, we further
underscore our commitment to the economic vitality of the West End
and Seven Counties' commitment to provide accessible healthcare
to all residents in our region.
Cypress Medical Associates is expected to continue leasing about 6,000
sq. feet in the building until some time next year. In the meantime,
Seven Counties' staff members already are moving in to the building
and seeing clients. It is expected that approximately 30-35 Seven
Counties employees ultimately will staff this site. |
