Seven Counties’ Crisis and Information Center needs volunteers

Seven Counties Services’ Crisis and Information Center needs volunteer telephone counselors to provide crisis intervention and resource referral information to callers in the region.

Volunteer phone counselors receive intensive training in crisis intervention, suicide counseling, and knowledge of community resources. The Crisis and Information Center provides flexible training monthly, and will arrange volunteer work to fit various schedules. For more information, contact Geneva Robinson at 589-8615, ext. 1116 or grobinso@sevencounties.org.

The Crisis and Information Center is one of the busiest centers of its kind in the nation, responding to more than 80,000 calls annually. The center provides 24-hour, seven-day-a-week telephone crisis counseling and referral to residents of Bullitt, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in Kentucky, and Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties in Indiana. It is Kentucky's only certified suicide prevention hotline.
