In-home Mental Health Services Available for
Children and their Families in Bullitt County

Seven Counties Services, Inc. is offering intensive in-home mental health services for Bullitt County children and their families. The program serves children ages 3-16 who are returning from the hospital, a crisis stabilization unit or a shelter; children who are referred by family court; children who already receive services from Seven Counties' rural crisis team, which maybe part of a child’s aftercare plan; or who may require in-home services for other reasons. The program is managed out of Seven Counties’ Bullitt County office at 130 Vine Street.

“Our in-home program offers a safe and effective transition for children returning to their homes and their families or caregivers after a crisis,” explains Sonny Hatfield, manager of the in-house program.

The in-home services available include intensive individual therapy; family therapy; skills development in areas such as anger management and parenting; group therapy; case management and service coordination; and therapeutic aides.

“It is vitally important that parents and caregivers be involved in a child’s treatment plan,” said Hatfield. “Many times it is not just the child who needs help with skill development and transitioning, it is the family as well. Families need to be able to support a child at home who is in treatment, and be able to work together to achieve the child's and family's goals.”

For eligible children and their families, Medicaid and Impact cover the costs of this program. Referrals to this program are accepted from the Ky. Dept. of Community Based Services, Child Protective Services, local courts, and other health and human service providers. To refer a child to this program, contact Seven Counties Services’ Access System at 589-1100 (1-800-264-8799); TTY 589-4259 (1-877-589-4259).
