Seven Counties Services' board
seeks nominations for the
Sunrise Award to honor
those who help further Seven Counties' mission
through cooperation and collaboration
As the safety net provider of mental
health, developmental disability and substance abuse treatment and
support services, Seven Counties appreciates and values those with
whom it works together in serving those in need and in making our
communities healthier, safer and better places to live. The strength
of any effort, initiative, service or program comes not from one
individual or organization, but from many people and organizations
joining hands, bringing energy and ideas, and working together for
a common good.
As the first female warden in the Kentucky Corrections System,
the 2005 Sunrise Award recipient Ms. Betty Kassulke, was honored
for her advocacy efforts on behalf of alcoholic and drug addicted
women parolees. Her collaborative efforts were instrumental in obtaining
a treatment program in the women's prison and for providing an aftercare
halfway house within the community.
The board of directors of Seven Counties Services, Inc. is pleased
and proud to announce that it is again seeking nominations for the
Sunrise Award (Recognizing the capacity for growth, development
and progress that can be achieved by working together) to recognize
an individual or organization whose cooperation and collaboration
during the last year have helped further the mission of Seven Counties
Services. That mission is to improve the lives of people at risk
or affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, addictions
and abuse.
Criteria for nomination is an individual who or organization that
has demonstrated exceptional cooperation/collaboration with Seven
Counties that helps further its mission, and thereby helped the
populations its serves. The award is open to anyone or any organization
or entity in Kentucky or elsewhere. Seven Counties' staff and board,
however, are not eligible for the award. Anyone can make a nomination.
The award will be presented at the board of directors' December
meeting
The brief nomination form is below as a Word doc, and should be
downloaded for completion.
