Volunteer Opportunities

We believe it is time to bring mental health, developmental disabilities, mental retardation and chemical dependency services into the fold of community support. You can help by providing the most personal gift you can give…your time. You can be somebody who cares.

Each year, more than 600 volunteers generously give of themselves — their time and talents — in a variety of Seven Counties Services' programs to help others. Generally, hours are flexible so you can volunteer as frequently as you wish. Volunteer selection includes such things as an application process, reference check and criminal records check.

Services that work with all ages:

Crisis and Information Center
Volunteer phone counselors provide crisis counseling and information and referral services.

  • Carole Blough, 589-8615, ext. 1515

Networks
Volunteers are needed to assist with our Networks program, an adult day habilitation program for individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. Volunteers help provide training, communications, socialization, and self-help skills. They also assist individuals in participating in community routines and activities.

  • Janet Hardy, 459-5292

Services involving children:

Louisville Adolescent Network for Substance Abuse Treatment

LANSAT recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers (21 years of age and over) to staff the Youth Clubhouse. The clubhouse is an integral part of the service array used by adolescents seeking a drug- and alcohol-free setting in which to socialize and hold support/treatment meetings.
